Imagination, empathy and adaptability are the in-demand skills of the present and the future. Beyond ensuring the future of the book industry, creating a culture of literacy and reading for leisure is our contribution to Jamaica’s future. The ability to read and think has a huge impact on people’s life chances. We are on a mission to build a sustainable future one reader at a time.
Copyright
Jamaica’s copyright laws are considered among the best in the Caribbean. We support the work of key partners such as the Jamaica Copyright Licensing Agency (JAMCOPY) and the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO) to ensure authors and publishers are fairly rewarded for their work and creativity.
Education
Our members play an essential role in creating and distributing high-quality resources to learning institutions and have significant expertise and experience in developing these materials. We are proud partners of several government agencies and non-profit organizations who collaborate to build a culture that recognizes the value of educational and culturally relevant content to support education. The BIAJ works closely with these partners from curriculum development to publication and offers insights that help to shape policies for improvement.
